Three prominent economists and faculty in the Master’s of Science in Applied Economics program at Boston College gathered on December 19, 2019, to discuss economic forecasts for 2020.
The live webinar was moderated by Aleksandar Tomic, Ph.D., Associate Dean, Strategy, Innovation, & Technology, and Director of the MSAE program. Joining Dr. Tomic were Jose Fillat, Ph.D., Senior Economist and Policy Advisor, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Ataman Ozyildirim, Ph.D., Director of Economic Research and Global Research Chair, The Conference Board, and Can Erbil, Ph.D., Professor of the Practice of Economics, Boston College.
Panelists focused on the Economy in 2020: Forecasts on financial trends for the short- and long-term. Topics covered include the impact of trade wars, market turbulence, the prospects of an impending recession and factors that might drive policy change. The panelists addressed many of the most pressing economic issues looming for 2020 along with the trends and factors influencing the economy in both the short and long-term.
