Attendees joined us at Boston College’s Woods College inaugural Analytics & Industry Symposium. We fostered meaningful discussions and exchanged ideas on the incredible potential of analytics. The event united experts, practitioners, and students to explore the intersection of analytics with business, policy, and social good. Our symposium featured panelists discussing the latest trends and showcased innovative projects by emerging analytics professionals. DONNA RICHIE | Moderator
Donna was a Founder of Meteor Learning and has been Chief Operating Officer since 2017. In this role, Donna focuses on operational excellence and growth across both B2B and B2C channels. Together with Meteor’s higher education partners, Donna has led program strategy and operations for over 35 programs spanning bachelor’s and master’s markets and a broad set of academic areas spanning nursing, education, analytics, business, public administration, computer science, healthcare administration, and mental health.

KIRSTEN STONE | Panelist
Kirsten Stone is the Head of Quantitative Manager Research at BNY Mellon Investor Solutions. Kirsten‘s work involves relating qualitative outcomes to quantitative inputs, including market data, investment performance, asset allocation, and other investment-related inputs. Both her BS and MBA are from Portland State University. She is currently located in New York City.

MICHAEL JESTER | Panelist
Michael began his professional career at CompUSA, gaining an e-commerce, logistics, analytics, and category management background. He changed companies to 7-Eleven in 2008, where he built several departments, including space planning, regional product development, and merchandise insights. Over the past few years, Michael has helped the Marketing department build C-Shopper, the industry’s most comprehensive convenience store analytics platform. In his free time, he returned to university for a master’s in Sustainability.

ANDREW SHERWIN | Panelist
Andrew Sherwin is the Vice President of Business Strategy & Operations at the Boston Celtics overseeing a Business Intelligence, Marketing Operations & Advertising, and Business Operations departments. His departments are focused on analyzing various types of data, providing insights, implementing new systems & technology, servicing several internal departments, and driving revenue for the organization. In 2021, Andrew was named an Eventellect Emerging Executives Program Awardee at the SBJ Sports Facilities & Franchises Ticketing Symposium. Prior to Andrew’s 14th years with the Celtics.

LARRY FULTON | Moderator
Larry Fulton earned his Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin (UT) in 2005. He holds five other graduate degrees, including a Master of Science in Statistics (UT), Master of Health Administration (Baylor), Master of Military Arts & Sciences (CGSC), Master of Strategic Studies (US Army War College), and Master of Human Resources (Troy). Dr. Fulton is a Certified Analytics Professional (Institute for Operations Research & Management Science), Chartered Statistician (Royal Statistical Society), and Professional Statistician (American Statistical Society).

NECHAMA KATAN | Panelist
Nechama Katan, Director of Data Science at Pfizer, is a highly skilled problem solver who uses innovative techniques to help your organization overcome complex technical and process-related issues. With experience working in various industries, including high and low-tech, finance, and pharmaceuticals, Nechama has honed her expertise in developing code, creating prototypes, and driving business conversations that solve technical challenges for the leaders she supports.

LAURA J STEINBERG | Moderator
Laura J. Steinberg is the Seidner Family Executive Director of the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society and Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Boston College. Dr. Steinberg has worked extensively on research in infrastructure management, disaster preparedness and response, environmental modeling, and higher education leadership. She served on the EPA Science Advisory Board and Drinking Water Committee and as an editor and advisory board member for Natural Hazards Review, the Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and the Journal of Environmental Engineering. For the American Society of Civil Engineers, she served three terms as a member of the Industry Leaders Council.

MICHAEL BAICKER | Panelist
Michael Baicker is a Director in EY-Parthenon’s Quantitative Strategies and Solutions group, where he leads market and business development of sustainability and ESG initiatives. Michael specializes in developing strategies for energy efficiency, sustainability, and climate change programs for corporate and government organizations. His experience includes implementing electric vehicle fleet transitions, incorporating environmental justice metrics in transportation infrastructure planning, and analyzing GHG and market trends associated with the electrification of the US transportation system.
